However, it is astonishing that other – so-called democratic – parties are also involved in circumventing the law and eliminating whistleblowers. It almost seems that the original anti-corruption ethos with which the parties of the five-party coalition went into the elections has long since been drowned out by the heady feeling of power. But responding to the record low public confidence in this government’s ability to solve the country’s economic problems by arrogantly silencing any criticism is definitely not the best idea.
