Court finally frees police officer who stopped motorcyclist with car
Police officer Šimon Vaic, who was facing charges for blocking the path of a passing motorcyclist with his car in 2017, did not commit a crime. The verdict of the District Court for Prague 8 was upheld by an appeals court on Tuesday. Judge Lubos Vlasak said the officer acted correctly and even with a successful outcome. Luboš Vlasák, the chairman of the appeals chamber, described the actions of the General Inspectorate of Security Forces (GIBS) and the prosecutor’s office as alibi-like. In his opinion, there was no negligent behaviour in this case.
