Because Kresánek understood his letter as a last attempt to change the prime minister’s mind, he also included an argument that was supposed to reverse everything. The success of the second competing firm would not harm the SDKU at all, he said, because “Gabo takes the matter alternatively, according to the fact that the background is the same for the party.” This sentence effectively announced that how Gabo, i.e. Gabriel Palacka, the SDKU treasurer, “takes the matter” is decisive for the outcome of the tender, which was announced by the state enterprise and which was under the political control of SDKU nominees.
