The ’90s at Southy: My student micro-apartment had 62 square meters, I parked in front of the house near the park, shopping center and multiplex cinema

16 meters must be enough. A new micro-housing market is emerging

Micro-apartments and studio apartments are pulling the real estate market. Apartment prices have risen by ten percent year-on-year and the market is reviving even outside the big cities. Investors in particular are interested. The real estate market is mainly driven by small flats, which buyers acquire most often as an investment – especially in Prague and Brno. Along with the demand for studio flats, according to the statistics of the bank ČSOB, a new trend of even smaller flats, i.e. units with an area of around 16 square metres, has been growing recently.
