It is up to four times cheaper to live in Prague apartments. Even people with high incomes have social rents
Tenants with above-average incomes also live in public housing. These are judges or businessmen. After several months, the Prague City Council received the conclusions of an inventory of rents in city flats. The investigation was initiated after Seznam pointed out last year that many people with above-average incomes live in Prague’s city flats. These included judges and state prosecutors. Even though they often have incomes exceeding CZK 100,000 a month, they were paying the rent for the municipality’s flat, which cities usually set for the socially disadvantaged.
