Russia does not share the same values as the West and is therefore not satisfied with the current world order and is pursuing a confrontational policy towards the North Atlantic Alliance. General Petr Pavel, chairman of NATO’s military committee, said this at the Stratcom summit conference in Prague, describing Russia as one of the two biggest current challenges for the alliance. NATO, he said, can best respond to Russia’s efforts by sticking together and working to provide a military deterrent.
