The Supreme Court has ruled on the segregation of Roma children in education at the primary school in Stará Ľubovňa.
According to the court, state institutions are also responsible for the segregation, which arose spontaneously and not with the intention of separating Roma children from majority children. Roma children attending primary school in the Stará Ľubovňa-Podsadek district are segregated in their education. The Supreme Court (SC) of the Slovak Republic ruled on this yesterday following an appeal by the NGO Poradňa pro civic and human rights. The group has been litigating since 2015 after filing a public lawsuit under the Anti-Discrimination Act.
