Recently it was said that under no circumstances do you go to jail for politics (Michal Vašečka’s opinion)
According to the sociologist, politicians have learned from the past period. “After 2020, for the first time in the history of modern Slovakia, they discovered that you can end up in prison for politics and for close relations between high-ranking players in the state and public administration. This was not there before. There was a repulsive agreement that you do not go to jail for politics under any circumstances. In 2020, and I would argue rightly so, that was cut. It need not be fear – it is a treatment of a situation that, from Robert Fico’s point of view, has got out of control and needs to be brought back under control.
