Next year, police payments to telecom operators for wiretapping are expected to exceed half a billion crowns

What the government isn’t talking about in the package: wiretaps, bureaucracy, hospital mergers

The norm also proposes a way to reduce the price the Czech Police has to pay to operators for wiretaps and data on the identity of callers. The price for wiretaps is expected to exceed half a billion crowns next year, and after the changes recommended by the amendment to the Electronic Communications Act, it should drop to 50 to 80 million. The savings will be secured by a new rule that the police will not contribute to operators’ equipment used for wiretapping in future.
