Extortion at the public health office: three officials sentenced by the court
After four years, a case unprecedented in the public sphere is coming to an end. A sanitation employee had to hand over part of his income to his superiors. Tens of thousands a month. A trio of senior officials at Prague’s sanitary department blackmailed a colleague. They threatened him that if he didn’t hand over the “salary” he could lose his job. They were convicted for this, and the case, which Seznam Zpravodaj has followed in recent years, now ends with a final sentence for the last of them. Zdenek Vališ, the former head of the Hygiene Department’s economic department, was given a two-year suspended sentence. And a fine of 100,000.
