The construction of the first motorway tunnel in Slovakia will cost one and a half billion crowns more. At the expense of taxpayers. According to unofficial information, at the beginning of April the police should have charged a group of ten people for fraud and conspiracy to form an organised group in connection with the construction of the Branisko tunnel. Among the accused is also the former director of the Slovak Road Administration, Dušan Matonok, who was dismissed from his post by the former Minister of Transport, Pavol Prokopovič. Other former top managers of SSC – Valerián Horváth and Roman Veselka – are also allegedly among the accused. Other accused include some former members of the board of directors of ZPA Křížik.

Tunnel tunnelling, money in Swiss accounts and secret services. All this is connected to the Branisko case. After years of investigation, the prosecutor has filed an indictment against the biggest case of the Dzurinda government at the Specialized Criminal Court. The Branisko tunnel was under construction for six years, and the investigation of the tunnelling case lasted another 14 years. But now the story seems to be at an end. The prosecutor of the Office of the Special Prosecutor has filed an indictment with the Specialised Criminal Court. The court spokeswoman Katarína Kudjáková confirmed this to Aktuality.sk.
