One of the biggest corruption scandals with links to politics is being opened in court and it does not involve his nominees. On the contrary, Fico scored political points in the past on the Branisko tunnel tunnelling case during the era of Mikulas Dzurinda of the SDKÚ. The second such case is only the dubious sale of platinum sieves from state reserves during the government of Iveta Radičová, where the trial is also still in its early stages. It has been 25 years since the tunnelling in the construction of Branisko, with damage in the hundreds of millions of crowns at the time.
