Combine two reduced VAT rates into one. Stanjura plans a major tax reform
Finance Minister Zbyněk Stanjura (ODS) is preparing the biggest reform of the value added tax in the last eight years. Instead of two reduced rates of 10 and 15 percent, people should pay only one per year. It will be 13 or 14 percent. This single reduced rate would then exist alongside the current basic VAT rate of 21 percent. The minister expects that this will increase budget revenues and simplify the whole system.
