We’re buying CV90 combat vehicles – each one costs as much as 20 houses, and maintenance will cost twice as much

The service contract for the new combat vehicles will cost tens of billions of crowns more. Who will get it is not yet known

The Czech Republic will receive 246 CV90 infantry fighting vehicles from the Swedish company BAE Systems for less than 60 billion. The government of Petr Fiala (ODS) approved the deal on Wednesday and Lubor Koudelka signed the contract on behalf of the defence ministry on the same day. However, the contract does not include servicing of the vehicles. “I cannot say the price. (…) It will be in the order of tens of billions of crowns,” Koudelka told Radiožurnál and iROZHLAS.cz.
