Young Czechs are getting worse at English. Even Slovaks have overtaken them in international rankings
While the English proficiency of employees is improving, the English proficiency of young people aged between 18 and 20 is deteriorating in the long term. This is according to a ranking by the international education organisation EF Education First. Czechs have fallen three places since last year, finishing 26th out of 113 countries, according to the results of English tests of 2.2 million non-native speakers. The Dutch are the best English speakers for the second year in a row. The Slovaks climbed to 18th place. In the regional comparison, South Moravia beat Prague.
