In Slovakia, an entire village brawled over the elections. People attacked each other with fists, an axe, and even a machete
A violent brawl involving dozens of residents broke out in the Slovak municipality of Žehra, fueled by escalating tensions ahead of local elections. According to reports, the confrontation involved weapons ranging from machetes and axes to shovels and scythes. The incident resulted in significant property damage and a serious head injury to a woman who remains hospitalized. Local authorities link the violence to political intimidation. The incumbent mayor, Marián Mižigár, reported that his nephew was ambushed while heading to a gym. ‘Three individuals attacked him, threatening to kill his entire family if his uncle proceeded with his mayoral candidacy. They then beat him mercilessly,’ Mižigár told the national broadcaster STVR. The victim sustained a concussion in the assault.
