On Maundy Thursday in 2000, police officers from the Special Task Force blew open the front door and stormed the residence of the head of the HZDS, Vladimír Mečiar.
Today is Green Thursday – a memorable day for presidential candidate Vladimir Mečiar. Four years ago, police forcibly removed him from his Elektra villa in Trenčianske Teplice because he refused to come in for questioning. He was to testify as a defendant in an illegal case. The raid took place on 20 April 2000 in Trenčianske Teplice at the Elektra guesthouse. Former Prime Minister Vladimír Mečiar was escorted to the investigator.
