Even after more than 30 years, the streets of Slovak villages still bear the names of criminals such as V. I. Lenin and Tiso

While Tiso is dealt with by the prosecution, Lenin has streets and a bus stop, but it is not a crime

To this day we still find streets named after Gottwald, Marx, Engels, Lenin and other communists. The state authorities do not address this. Lenin Street in Veliki Ulyany. Slovakia has been dealing with the issue of a street named after Jozef Tiso in Varin for several months. It is the only street in Slovakia named after him, but it receives unprecedented attention from the media and law enforcement authorities. In the case of Tisova Street, the National Crime Agency has even launched a criminal prosecution against the municipal deputies of Varín who did not vote in favour of renaming the street in question. This had to be stopped only by special prosecutor Daniel Lipšic.
