The number of patents recognized last year is at a record low
In 2022, a total of 5,076 patents were granted to Czech and foreign entities or validated by the Industrial Property Office of the Czech Republic (IPO CR) for the territory of the Czech Republic, i.e. the lowest in the last ten years. Foreign applicants accounted for 93% of these patents, while Czech entities accounted for the remaining 7%, i.e. 355 patents. Since 2019, there has been a reduction of almost 3 thousand patents.
