The fire for Natalka was supposed to be a gift for Hitler’s birthday.
“We wanted to destroy the house. Our intention was not to kill anyone,” the defendant who set fire to the house of a Romani family in Vítkov, Opava Region, claimed in court. Lawyers for the victims are seeking millions in damages. According to the prosecution, the four neo-Nazis wanted to do something bigger just before the 120th anniversary of Adolf Hitler’s birth, which fell on 20 April 2009. The next trial will take place tomorrow. The first day of the trial is over, the second will take place tomorrow.
