The conductor’s death was caused by poor door maintenance. It opened when he leaned over
Last year’s death of a train conductor who fell off a moving train in the Breclav region was caused by the poor condition of the train door. An investigation by the Railway Inspectorate revealed this. The door opened while the train was moving when the man leaned against it. The 66-year-old conductor fell off the train from Mikulov to Breclav last September near the Boří les stop. When he fell, he crashed into the steel structure of the bridge through which the train was passing. The Railway Inspectorate, whose final report was highlighted by the Zdopravy.cz website, found during an inspection and verification experiment that the outer door in the service compartment of the train had not been reconstructed during the modernisation of the 854 series
