Every year, doctors hospitalize thousands of people without their consent. According to lawyer Maroš Matiašek, this constitutes an infringement that the state should prevent — yet the current system, he says, is failing. A woman who was hospitalized in a psychiatric facility against her will is now suing over whether the hospital actually had the right to do so. While Bohnice Hospital denies any wrongdoing, the woman claims there was no reason for her continued hospitalization and that the medical documentation was based primarily on statements from her former partner, who she says was seeking revenge.
