One third of Czechs would defend their homeland with a gun
A third of people (32.9 %) would be willing to defend the Czech Republic with a weapon in the event of an attack on the country. This is according to the CEDMO Trends survey. The survey also examined the attitudes of Czechs towards the conflict in Ukraine. Its victory is wanted by 43 percent of people, while over seven percent want the Russian aggressors to win. A temporary reconciliation without a victory by either side in the conflict would be preferred by almost 38 percent of respondents.

Eight Czechs out of ten would defend their homeland. Only Poles are more determined
The survey was conducted by GLOBSEC in February and March 2025 and involved 9,000 respondents from nine Central and Eastern European countries. The results show increasingly significant differences between countries. The Bratislava-based NGO GLOBSEC released a survey on Europeans’ willingness to fight for freedom in 2025.
