The ‘club of the chosen ones’ has shared over 14 billion thanks to road repairs. The county has one month to terminate the contracts
For almost two decades, only a select few companies have had exclusive access to lucrative contracts for the maintenance of Central Bohemian roads. During that time, they have collected over CZK 14 billion from the EAR thanks to historic contracts. The regional coalition headed by the governor Petra Pecková (STAN) wanted to break this contractor system. However, the whole action is stalling and time is running out. If the cooperation is not completed within a month, the companies’ engagement will be cemented for another year. Moreover, elections are coming up.
