Traffic was restricted between the main railway station and the Smíchov railway station in Prague. Someone stole fibre optic cables
The theft of the cables restricted the operation of trains between the main station and the Smíchov railway station in Prague from Sunday morning until about 15.00. Trains were delayed and some were cancelled in that section, for example the S7 suburban line between Beroun and Prague ended at Smíchov. This was revealed from information on the Czech Railways website. Someone tried to steal the cables in the section in the previous week, and traffic was also restricted then. “Traffic is restricted due to the theft of fibre-optic cables of signalling equipment,” Marek Illiaš, spokesman for the Railway Infrastructure Administration, said on Sunday.
