The poorest Czech regions are about to lose their advantage in attracting investors. It’s for their own good, says the ministry
The North Bohemian town of Bílina is one of the towns where investors are not very keen on investing. Poorer regions are now about to lose the opportunity to attract new employers through a system of incentives. There is no region in Central and Eastern Europe that is getting poorer faster than Karlovy Vary and Ústí nad Labem. Instead of giving more support to the so-called coal regions, however, the government is preparing a move that goes in the opposite direction. The poorest domestic regions will lose the advantage that made it easier for them to attract investors.
