Our society is falling apart, we are losing our children. They need adults, say a duo of Canadian psychologists
Children are behaving worse and worse and we don’t know what to do with them – is what we have been hearing recently from teachers across educational levels, countries and continents. But according to Canadian psychologists Tamara Strijack Neufeld and her father, Gordon Neufeld, the fault lies not with the children, but with a system that does not foster strong and secure attachments to adults. “We see children’s school performance deteriorating, but we’re addressing it all wrong,” says Gordon Neufeld. So what is missing in our schools in relation to pupils and how do we address it?
Comment: Set to music, for example by Karel Kryl in the song Veličenstvo Kat
