A Czechified first name and the Czechoslovak context suddenly make the Slovak start-up Brightpick seem, at least on the surface, like it’s from a different country

Robots from the warehouses of Rohlik and Dr. Max are heading to the USA. They cost as much as a cheap car

Startup Brightpick, based in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, is developing robots that can pick and transport goods from warehouses autonomously. In the Czech Republic, they work for Rohlík.cz or pharmaceutical ViaPharma from Penta Investments. In the Czechoslovak space, another technology company has grown up that produces fully autonomous robots for warehouses. “It’s actually as if you have an employee in every warehouse who never sleeps, never gets tired and never forgets what he was supposed to do,” says the startup’s boss Jan Žižka, describing the main advantage of his company’s Brightpick technology.
