Tourist in the Slovak Paradise National Park wanted to smoke out hornets, instead he burned a tree
A deliberate tree fire in the Slovak Paradise endangered visitors. A tourist allegedly tried to smoke out hornets. The forest guard and firefighters prevented material damage. A tree trunk burned on a hiking and cycling trail in the Bikšová lúka locality in the Slovak Paradise. As the National Park (NP) Slovenský raj, based in Spišská Nová Ves, informs on social media, the fire was most likely intentionally caused by a visitor who wanted to smoke out hornets nesting in the tree. The NP also calls on tourists to be responsible during their stay in nature.
