The head of the National Bank of Slovakia bribed, the court ruled. He has to pay a fine of over two million crowns
A court in Slovakia has found central bank governor Peter Kažimir guilty of bribery. He was fined 100,000 euros, or CZK 2.34 million. The decision is not final, as the elite branch of the prosecutor’s office filed a resistance against it. A trial will be scheduled in the case. Referring to the court and the prosecutor’s office, the newspaper Sme wrote on Thursday. The case concerns suspicions of bribery of former head of the tax administration František Imrecze. Kažimír denies guilt.
