In Slovakia, there is an interest in food of domestic origin, but in small villages it is more unavailable
According to the survey, up to three-quarters of consumers prefer food of Slovak origin. Retail chains that also sell food in rural areas, but need state support. Slovaks in both urban and rural areas are interested in Slovak food, but access to basic food in smaller villages is a problem. As many as 58 percent of the people interviewed in the 2muse survey said that the unavailability of Slovak food is a barrier to buying it. Jana Kuklová, spokesperson of COOP Jednota Slovensko, informed about this. “There is a great demand for quality Slovak food on the Slovak market, including in rural areas. This was also shown by a recent survey, which showed that up to 76 percent of consumers prefer food of Slovak origin,” said Ján Bilinský, Chairman of the Board of COOP Jednota Slovensko.
