Skoda Epiq to compete with this year’s BYD Yuan Up in 2025, but costs twice as much

The truck gave us a ride. Finally, it showed a small car that is supposed to be one of the cheapest on offer

The design study of the Škoda Epiq brings modern design combined with long range and user-friendly technologies. Affordability remains a key aspect,” said the Škoda boss. Škoda promises that when this urban beast arrives on the market in 2025 (it will be produced in Pamplona, Spain, as it is a joint development and production project of Škoda, Cupra and VW), it will carry a price tag of 25,000 euros, which is 630,000 crowns according to the current conversion. That’s how much you can currently get a Kamiq 1.5 TSI with automatic, which should be a comparable car in terms of space and performance. That’s actually not bad at all, right?

An electric SUV for the price of a Fabia in a stick? It exists! It’s not just a semi-finished product, but an equipped car with a decent range

The brand new Chinese SUV is called the BYD Yuan Up and expands the brand’s already diverse electrified model line-up, which is gradually expanding into European markets. BYD is launching the new vehicle with a price starting at 100,000 yuan, which is equivalent to just under 327,000 CZK. Just for the record, the most affordable electric car on the Czech market today is the Dacia Spring with a price starting at CZK 576,400. Even the cheapest Fabia on tin with manual air-conditioning and a one-litre atmosphere is more expensive today, its price list starts at CZK 369,900.
