Volkswagen Group’s operating profit fell by a third year-on-year in the first half of the year, despite a slight increase in car sales. While profits for the group as a whole dropped significantly, the group’s carmaker Skoda, on the other hand, posted its best second-quarter results in its history. “What is coming back to Škoda now is that they have also invested in the development of standard engines,” Milan Kulhánek of Deloitte Central Europe told Radiožurnál.
