Will the Czech Republic have a new constitutional judge? The question will be answered by the senators. The plenary is to vote on the President’s nomination of Pavel Simon. However, he was the first to fail to win the support of either the Constitutional Law Committee or the Senate Human Rights Committee. “His career is quite interesting,” argues Jan Kysela, a constitutional lawyer and the head of President Peter Paul’s consultative panel. “We all agree that the strengths prevail,” he adds.
