Czech Republic commemorates the 65th anniversary of the end of World War II
65 years ago, World War II ended in Europe. The territory controlled by Nazi Germany was gradually liberated by the Allied armies and the Red Army. The end of the war also meant the end of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia, and after the liberation of Prague on 9 May, the pre-war Czechoslovakia was restored. A number of events were held across the country to celebrate the anniversary of the end of the war.
