I am not a warrior, Babiš says. You are afraid of war, Pavel countered in a live debate
Shortly after the votes were counted in the first round of the presidential election, billboards of Andrej Babiš appeared in the Czech Republic promising not to drag the country into war. In response, constitutional lawyer Jan Kysela said that the use of fear as an electoral tool is shameful and despicable. “I say I disagree with Mr (Peter) Paul that lasting peace is an illusion,” Babiš defended in the two candidates’ first-ever live duel on Wednesday.

However, Milan Kubek, president of the Czech Medical Chamber (ČLK), disputed that such exercises are common. He did not know about the upcoming ones. “This is the first time I have heard about it, I have never heard of anything like this. Not even in this case – I don’t know that anyone has approached the Czech Medical Chamber about such a matter. In our country, full-time military service has been abolished for almost 20 years,” Milan Kubek, president of the Czech Medical Chamber, told the editorial board.
