Severance Pay for MPs: Chamber to Distribute CZK 57.5 Million, Pekarová to Receive the Most
Members of Parliament who either did not run for re-election this year or failed to retain their seats will receive severance payments at the beginning of next year. The amount depends on their final monthly salary and the number of years served. A legal condition for receiving the full severance is that they do not take up a comparable public office. The Office of the Chamber of Deputies expects to pay out approximately CZK 57.5 million in severance to outgoing MPs, with Pekarová receiving the highest amount.
