Doubt turns to panic. Developers fear for the fate of the Building Act after a new decision by the Office of the Planning Authority
This was supposed to be a recipe for speeding up the extremely long building permitting process, but instead developers fear that the new building law will ultimately lead to the opposite. The reason for this is the difficulties that accompany the digitalisation of construction proceedings, one of the key tools on which Regional Development Minister Ivan Bartoš (Piráti) has long been betting. The average housing project in the Czech Republic takes up to five years to be permitted, while some more complex cases take up to a decade.
