Holjenčík advised energy firms how to raise prices, reveals recording
When Jozef Holienčík was in control of the Office for Regulation of Network Industries, he helped companies find ways to raise prices through the revaluation of assets. The recording convicted him of advising energy companies to revalue assets that had already been written off, start writing them off again and reflect the increase in energy prices. Holjenčík’s former company JHS had revenues of more than three million euros and after-tax profits of nearly one million euros under Holjenčík’s leadership of the Office of Energy Regulatory Services. After his departure, the firm’s revenues dropped sixfold.
