Referendum did not stop the stone mining approach to the village, it was not binding for the company
Although the inhabitants of the small village in southern Moravia rejected a local referendum several years ago to move the quarry closer to the village, the operator already has all the necessary permits and is starting preparatory work. The vote was not binding on the company. In 2018, the vast majority of the inhabitants of the small town of Lhota Rapotina in Blansko clearly opposed the plan to move the process line of the nearby stone quarry closer to the village in a local referendum. But even though the vote was valid, the operator of the mining site has recently started preparatory work on a plot of land near the village.
