“The judgments we have published in the reasoning contain belittling conclusions like it was her own fault because she got drunk, he beat her because she wasn’t nice to him. The mitigating factor in rape is that the perpetrator did not have an erection,” says attorney Lucie Hrdá. “There is a perception that rape is not such a serious crime. The way to improve is to educate the people who make the decisions,” she adds.
