Czech specialists invented the Vltava railway bridge, the Branický Bridge got a second track after 70 years but the tunnel remains single-track

The Branický Bridge is after reconstruction. Trains will start running on two tracks

After the reconstruction of Prague’s Branický Bridge is completed, trains will start running on the new second track on Thursday evening. Traffic on one track was restored there in July. The Railway Infrastructure Administration (SŽ) also started double-track operation in the connecting section through Krč to the reconstructed Praha-Kačerov stop. The construction cost almost CZK 2.64 billion, 85 percent of the costs were covered by European funds, the rest was financed by the State Fund for Transport Infrastructure (SFDI). This was stated on Thursday by Jiří Svoboda, Director General of the Railway Administration.
