Zítko failed to run for the Castle and complains. The Interior Ministry warned him that he was collecting signatures unnecessarily
Activist Pavel Zítko is among the field of unsuccessful contenders for the Czech Republic’s Castle that the Czech Interior Ministry eliminated from the January elections on Friday. Although he claimed that he managed to collect the necessary 50 000 signatures of citizens in just a few days before the deadline, it turned out that there were only 15 000. On Thursday he brought more signature sheets to the ministry, relying on his lawyer’s interpretation that he could still deliver them. He was unsuccessful. He is now complaining about the Interior Ministry’s procedure and wants to appeal.
