The police chief is suspected of theft at IKEA
The leadership of the Prague police has suspended a senior officer who is suspected of theft. The officer is barred from work and is receiving half his salary. The case of the now former head of the Nové Město local department, Libor G., is being handled by the General Inspection of Security Forces (GIBS), which investigates crimes committed by police officers. The acts he is suspected of, according to Seznam Zprávy, took place at an IKEA store. The goods were then allegedly offered for sale on online marketplaces. “Yes, I can confirm that GIBS is dealing with such conduct. No further information can be provided,” said the inspection’s spokesperson, Ivana Nguyen.
