Prague pogrom at Easter 1389
The Pogrom of Easter 1389 or also the Bloody Easter was a massive anti-Jewish pogrom that took place during the Easter holidays on 18 April 1389 in the Old Town of Prague. Under the pretext of desecrating the Christian symbols carried in the procession, the Prague ghetto was looted and almost the entire Jewish community in Prague was murdered, apparently killing more than 3,000 people. This was the worst pogrom that took place in the Czech lands.
