According to the GIBS, the policeman wanted to sell rhino horn in Asia. A man from the Prague headquarters faces up to 5 years in prison
The General Inspectorate of Security Forces (GIBS) has charged a police officer from the regional directorate in Prague and two other men with unauthorized handling of protected wildlife and plants. The trio are suspected of trying to sell the horn of a critically endangered black rhinoceros to the Asian market, where they could get up to $100,000, or more than CZK 2.27 million.
