Prague 5 has placed giant planters against fumes on the pavements. People rather mind
Giant flower pots in Prague 5. Dolní Smíchov has been plagued by traffic fumes for many years. That’s why the city district decided to help the most congested streets. It has installed giant concrete planters on the pavements, into which it will plant flowers, shrubs and trees. These are designed to trap particulate matter, which pollutes the air. Although people are usually annoyed by the containers, which significantly narrow the pavements, Prague 5 is continuing the project. And as editor Evelyna Kulíšková found out, it even managed to get a large subsidy from the European Union.
