On Wednesday, the Constitutional Court (ÚS) is publicly debating a motion by 71 MPs from the opposition ANO movement to repeal the government amendment that shortened the extraordinary June pension indexation last year. Former Finance Minister Alena Schillerová and attorney David Rašovský will be appearing in court on their behalf. The court has called Finance Minister Zbyněk Stanjura (ODS) and Labour and Social Affairs Minister Marian Jurecka (KDU-ČSL) as witnesses. Mojmír Hampl, chairman of the National Budget Council, told the court that the increase in the cost of living for pensioners at the turn of 2022 and 2023 was exceptionally high and surprising.
