Police officers organized a fundraiser for a woman with “almost no resources.” Hundreds of thousands ended up with the owners of dozens of apartments
One of the houses in Varnsdorf is owned by the family of a woman who, according to police, was left “almost destitute” after the sudden death of her partner. She received 600,000 crowns from a public collection. In September 2018, Czech media described the tragic event. Prague police officer Vladimír Dřevojan was caught by serious health complications on his way to work and died suddenly at the age of thirty-five. Shortly thereafter, the Independent Trade Union of the Police of the Czech Republic announced a public collection for the benefit of his surviving partner and several-month-old daughter.
