The Chilean judiciary will once again attempt to clarify the circumstances surrounding the death of the poet Pablo Neruda, who died in 1973 shortly after the coup d’état led by General Augusto Pinochet. An appeals court in the capital has ordered the reopening of an investigation into the death of the Nobel Prize-winning writer, AFP reported. Some of Neruda’s relatives and Chileans believe the leftist poet was murdered by the nascent Pinochet regime.
